Not only is the birch tree itself a staple inspiration for decor and design, but its flowers are as well. The flowers on the birch tree, more commonly know as catkins, grow both make and female variants which cross-pollinate by the wind. Male catkins typically start growing in autumn, whereas the female catkins sprout in the spring.
