Absinthe Large Spoon Leaf

This beautiful Leaf Absinthe Spoon is an exact reproduction of an antique considered to be very rare and quite elusive by collectors. The slight curvature of the grille creates a bit of a funnel, which helps to focus the sugar water to the center spine of the spoon as it falls into the glass of absinthe. The attractive design makes it one of our most popular.

Absinthe Spoons were, and are, an integral part of preparing a traditional French/Swiss absinthe (cold water drip method). The  come in a wide variety of designs and sizes.

The spoon is placed across the rim of a glass containing a dose of absinthe and is used to hold the sugar cube(s) to sweeten an absinthe. Cold water is slowly poured over the sugar, allowing the sugar to dissolve and fall into the glass as sugar water.
